Project Overview and Map

Brazos Electric plans to upgrade approximately 5.6 miles of existing 69 kilovolt (kV) single-circuit transmission line to a 138 kV double-circuit line. The upgrade will extend from the Kosse Switch (SW) to the Kosse Substation, utilizing single-pole structures in Limestone County.

The Kosse SW-Kosse project is part of a voltage conversion initiative to upgrade the existing line from 69 kV to 138 kV. The project requires an additional 35 feet of right-of-way adjacent to the existing transmission line to maintain uninterrupted service during construction. If requested, Brazos Electric will relinquish 25 feet of right-of-way to the current owner of record on the adjacent side of the rebuilt line.

This project will enhance system capacity and improve service reliability for Brazos Electric Cooperative and its member-customers.
